On March 22, 2007 a new casino was opened at Gulfstream Park so they could accommodate all the games they have and all the people they serve each day and also increase the efficiency of their facilities. The park's employees worked long and hard to get the new casino opened, and it definitely paid off. The casino was able to open ahead of schedule. The new casino is huge with over 700 slot machines available for guests to try their luck on. Gulfstream Casino also boasts over 1,000 of the most popular games as well including Wheel of Fortune, Monopoly and others. The Casino is a Vegas style building their website proudly says is like nothing else in South Florida. In addition to all this, they also offer the horse racing that people have come to love. If you want to see for yourself everything the new Gulfstream Casino has to offer, check out their website at http://www.gulfstreampark.com/. The casino's expanded hours are from 10:30 AM until 2:30 AM every day, giving everyone more then enough opportunity to go for that massive payout.

The original casino contains what their site refers to as the first real slots in South Florida, and a massive aquarium adds to the festive atmosphere that is standard at Gulfstream Park Casino. There are also many restaurants and clubs on site to provide guests with something else to do when they're ready to take a break from all the games. The Mardi Gras themed casinos are almost like a different world within Gulfstream. No reference to horses can be found inside and the typical casino visitors are different then the people who frequent the horse track, according to some people who feel the new casino is a way to draw younger crowds to the Park. The Casino and others like it have already done quite a bit of good for Florida Schools, as well. It's estimated that Casinos have already brought more the $20 million to Florida's schools and has been yet another reason for tourists to come visit. The Casino is hoping to make some changes after a visit by senators earlier in March. They hope that the visit will lead to the Casino being able to stay open 24 hours, as well as offering ATM machines onsite. Currently, ATMs are not allowed by law and the Casino provides a shuttle for guests who need to go to one. Gulfstream Park is thrilled that Casinos are allowed to have slot machines now, because not only is it a major attraction for people who visit them, but it allows them to compete with the Seminole-owned casinos, something they couldn't do before, as slots are a huge part of the success of a lot of casinos.

If you're looking for a fun way to pass the time and see some horses, too, check out the Gulfstream Race Track and Casino. The elegant building is sure to thrill you almost as much as actually playing the games.
