2008 Father’s Day in Miami is Sunday June 15th! I will always remember my grandfather standing waiting for me at the corner of my elementary school. Every day my grandfather was there to take me home. It is today an unforgettable memory that make me appreciate even more the dedication and unconditional love a grandparent can give you. I am a lucky girl since the manly figures in my life has been positive and incredibly loving. My father has also influence my so much. Since my mother died when I was younger, my father and I have become pretty good friends. We are pretty close and I feel completely comfortable around him. I think I am a good girl and I owed that to him. He dedicated his life to me and most important of all I will always have those good memories with me.
Nowadays, we live in two different countries, yet we always find I way to see each other. This year is going to be very special since he will be visiting me on Father’s Day. As a consequence, I have been thinking what to do this 2008 Father’s Day in Miami, Florida, and I have come to the conclusion that the best thing is to keep it simple.
If I were at my hometown, Father’s Day will be surely a family celebration. All my uncles, my father, and grandfather together. Usually, we get together and enjoy a delicious barbecue and, of course, lots of beers. I love those family reunions because there are perfect opportunities to catch up with everybody. However, that is not the case. This 2008 Father’s Day in Miami will be only my dad, husband and me, so I want to do something fun, but yet simple and affordable.
Looking through the Internet, I found interesting tips that I have narrow to my father and I favorite activity, eating. We love to go out and discover new places. Furthermore, we love ethnic food. It does not have to be expensive, though. But it has to be good and fun.
There is an interesting event that caught my attention for this 2008 Father’s Day in Miami. At the Fairchild Tropical Gardenin Coral Gables, there is going to be a brunch held at the Visitors Center Ballroom from 10:30 a.m. thru 3:30 p.m. It seems to be a lot of fun because involves food in a local attraction that features beautiful gardens and art pieces by world-known artists. Currently, there is a Botero’s exhibition. Botero is a well-known Latin American artist that seems to be obsessed by heavy people. If this sounds good to you too, call at 305.256.8399 to make your reservations.
Miami is a great place to celebrate 2008 Father’s Day! I was thinking that maybe after the Fairchild, It will be nice just to relax on the beach since it is summer. You can take your father to a nice stroll on Lincoln Roadand relax on the beach of South Beach at the afternoon. If you are looking for something really affordable, because we all know about the recession, you can just plan a nice pick nick on the beach. For instance, prepare something yummy and put some drinks on cooler to spend the day in one of South Florida’s sunny beaches such as Hollywood Beach located a few minutes drive from Miami, or Matheson Hammock Park in Coral Gables, with a family-friendly ambiance really close to Miami’s Fairchild Tropical Garden.
In addition, taking your father to a nice restaurant is a great idea, too. If I have to choose I will go with Indian food because I know my father will love it. Besides, Indian cuisine is really friendly with vegetarians, as I am. Nevertheless, Italian cuisine is also a good choice. Who does not love Italian food? There are also great American style restaurants in Miami, and I am thinking men will love to be taken to a nice steakhouse in Miami to celebrate father’ day. For those looking for something truly unique, an Ethiopian restaurant can be ideal! just fun with flavors your dad might have no taste yet. Whichever restaurant you pick, remember to call in advance to see if it will be open and make your reservations since restaurants get pretty busy on Father’s Day.
Make this 2008 Father’s Day in Miami truly special! If you have not found a gift yet, I have a suggestion. A basket filled with six hand-selected microbrews from around the U.S. Besides, it also included award-winning gourmet snacks such as mixed nuts, pretzels, peanuts, and beef jerky. The basket has an estimated cost of $ 70. Nonetheless, if you want to save some money, you can do it yourself. Go to Home Depot and buy the basket. Then, go to your favorite supermarket and select the beers, you can go with imported beers if you preferred so. Add whatever you think your father will love!
