Miami Book Fair International - Miami Events

On November 9th through the 16th, thousands of people will attend this Miami event and listen to readings and discussions about and with international best-selling authors. The Miami Book Fair International is held at Miami-Dade College Wolfson campus in Downtown Miami. Programs will include a week-long reading series called Evenings Withe, a Spanish program called Ibero-American Authors, kid activities called Children’s Alley, student sessions called Student Literary Encounters and a rare book showcase called Antiquarian Annex. The Miami-Dade Wolfson campus is located at 300 N.E. 2nd Ave.

Miami Carnival, Upcoming Miami Events

Miami Carnival in its 24th annual edition brings live bands and calypsonians from the Caribbean Islands to Miami. This upcoming Miami event will be in Downtown Miami’s Bicentennial Park on October 12th.

The 2008 Miami Carnival grew from a small neighborhood festival to an international event within the first two years after its first edition in 1984. Nowadays, the 2008 Miami Carnival is North America’s most popular Carnival and the highest profit-generating festival in South Florida.

Exxxotica Miami has become an annual event that takes places at the Miami Beach Convention Center, just in the heart of South Beach. This Miami event will be in the city from April 18th - 20th. For those who do not anything, Exxxotica Miami is one of the biggest adult entertainment business’ exhibitions. Every year, this event features performances and seminars by some of the most important names in adult entertainment business.

Miami Beach Convention CenterExxxotica Miami’s exhibitors will vary in 2008, going from Xcitement Magazine, Florida’s guide to adult entertainment, and Mistress Couture, a lingerie line, to MyCircles.com, a   social network for adults, and B.a.b.e., a non-profit organization aimed towards developing new treatments for breast cancer.

Miami International Film Festival 2008, Events in Miami

The Miami International Film Festival 2008 is already in town. This popular event in Miami is celebrating its 25th edition with 120 films, workshops, and seminars. If you like movies, good movies I mean, there will be a great selection this year. You can enjoy the best of independent movies for the next 30 days.

You can buy tickets by phone calling at 305-405-MIFF (6433) from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Also, you can get your tickets in person during the festival at the Regal South Beach Cinema 18, located at 110 Lincoln Road, from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. In person, during the Festival: Patrons may purchase SAME DAY TICKETS ONLY at Festival venues. These box offices open one hour before the first screening of the day. The ticket prices move from $7 for students to $25 in the case of special screenings like the opening night. The General admission is $12. Cash preferred.

Check out this new Miami art event! The Art Rouge Gallery presents sculptures & paintings on glass and metal by internationally acclaimed visual artist Carson Case. The artist’s work is abstract or surreal figurative and she often uses mythological creatures like dragon, phoenix and. Carson expresses herself through the visual arts, dance, music, and poetry with the pure perfection of the spirit.
