Boutique Hotels in Miami, Florida - Miami Travel Information

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Miami and South Beach Boutique HotelsChic, distinction, warmth, and intimacy are the main words when defining boutique hotels in Miami, Florida, which seem to attract a niche of customers looking for a special and differentiated property able to fulfill their individual needs.

Ever since the beginning of the 21st century, the hotel industry has become increasingly packed with big monopolies of hotel chains. These hotels chains, mostly based in North America, thrived in selling uniformity across the U.S. These days, visitors of the city of Miami look forward to more than simply comfort and convenience; therefore, when they are planning trips to Miami, they seek hotels that are noticeably different in look and feel from branded hotels. Boutique hotels in Miami and South Beach seem to be the ideal solution for those travelers looking for intimacy and differentiation.

Boutique hotels are believed to have been invented in the early 1980s, and normally target travelers who are in their early 20s to mid-50s, with mid- to upper-income averages. In Miami Florida, the most emblematic boutique hotels are located in the South Beach Art Deco District. They usually consist of old art deco style buildings which have been completely renovated to fit on the boutique hotel definition. Some of the well-known South Beach boutique hotels are: Colony, Blue Moon, Delano, Catalina, Townhouse, Victor, Sanctuary, Shore Club, Astor, and Whitelaw. Many of these Miami hotels were revitalized by their owners, repositioning them as hip boutique hotels by mixing historic details with chic elegance.

Most boutique hotels in Miami are small buildings that do not exceed 150 rooms. Many rich and famous think that what differentiates Miami boutique hotels from standardized Miami hotels is the connection that hotel guests experience with the hotel staff and the service offered.

Stay in a Miami boutique hotel to experience something different!

Miami Beach Vacation Rentals, Affordable Vacation in Miami

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Miami VacationsMost people are always looking for new and interesting ways to spend their vacations when saving money. With the advance of the Internet, there have appear new and interesting ways for travelers to enjoy a very deserve vacation. A new trend that is going strong all around the globe is vacation rentals, and Miami is not the exception! Nevertheless, in the most popular area of Miami, Miami Beach, short-term rentals have some restrictions. Therefore, it is hard to find good Miami Beach vacation rentals.

When looking for a Miami Beach vacation rental, you must be cautious. There are several ways through which one can rent Miami Beach vacation rentals. The Internet has it all, but before you go to the every changing online world you must know in detail the three, almost four, ways vacation rentals are available to travelers.

To start with, there are really big websites that make easy the mission to book a vacation rental. Examples of those are: vacationrentals.com, vacationhomerentals.com, vacationhomes.com, goin2travel.com. However, you must know how they work before going ahead. Everyone can list a property on those websites. I could be for free or by paying a fee. Either way it can be a little risky. Just suppose one want to make easy money and put an online ad of a property that really does not exist. What will happen is that you will get scam. Most of these kinds of websites have incorporated some ways to prevent anything like this to happen, yet it might not been enough because “face to face” contact is not require in order to put the ad.

Miami Beach Vacation Condos and Homes Miami Beach Accommodations

Other way to rent a Miami Beach vacation rental is through an owner. There are many people with vacation properties or investment properties that have decided to open them to travelers in order to make some money or pay their mortgages. Renting through an owner also has its issues. For instance, the owner might not live on Miami, Florida, so if you have any kind of problem with the Miami vacation condo or Miami vacation home, it might be hard to get a quick response.

There are some real estate agents doing Miami Beach vacation rentals, but they are a few. Miami realtors make more money by selling or doing long-term rentals, so they usually not take the time to do short-term rentals in Miami.

At this instant, we have come with local Miami vacation rentals agencies. As it already was mentioned, there are certain restrictions over Miami Beach vacation rentals, so there are not many around. However, Miami Beach vacation rental agencies might be the most secure way to rent a vacation apartment or vacation home in Miami, Florida. A local agency is usually managed by local people who will guide you, as it should be, through all the rental process. Besides, if you get to have any problem with the property they can take care of you immediately. In most cases, you can almost be sure that the property is going to be well-maintained. Owners might not be that meticulous, otherwise. MiamiHabitat.com is a local agency operating in the hearth of Miami Beach where you will probably find a property that suits you.

Afterwards, Miami Beach vacation rentals represent a good solution to tourists looking forward to a more private and . They just have to be smart at the time to choose a property, and rental canal, in order to avoid any further inconvenient.

2008 Father’s Day in Miami, Miami Events

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Florida Keys2008 Father’s Day in Miami is Sunday June 15th! I will always remember my grandfather standing waiting for me at the corner of my elementary school. Every day my grandfather was there to take me home. It is today an unforgettable memory that make me appreciate even more the dedication and unconditional love a grandparent can give you. I am a lucky girl since the manly figures in my life has been positive and incredibly loving. My father has also influence my so much. Since my mother died when I was younger, my father and I have become pretty good friends. We are pretty close and I feel completely comfortable around him. I think I am a good girl and I owed that to him. He dedicated his life to me and most important of all I will always have those good memories with me.

Nowadays, we live in two different countries, yet we always find I way to see each other. This year is going to be very special since he will be visiting me on Father’s Day. As a consequence, I have been thinking what to do this 2008 Father’s Day in Miami, Florida, and I have come to the conclusion that the best thing is to keep it simple.

If I were at my hometown, Father’s Day will be surely a family celebration. All my uncles, my father, and grandfather together. Usually, we get together and enjoy a delicious barbecue and, of course, lots of beers. I love those family reunions because there are perfect opportunities to catch up with everybody. However, that is not the case. This 2008 Father’s Day in Miami will be only my dad, husband and me, so I want to do something fun, but yet simple and affordable.

Looking through the Internet, I found interesting tips that I have narrow to my father and I favorite activity, eating. We love to go out and discover new places. Furthermore, we love ethnic food. It does not have to be expensive, though. But it has to be good and fun.

There is an interesting event that caught my attention for this 2008 Father’s Day in Miami. At the Fairchild Tropical Garden in Coral Gables, there is going to be a brunch held at the Visitors Center Ballroom from 10:30 a.m. thru 3:30 p.m. It seems to be a lot of fun because involves food in a local attraction that features beautiful gardens and art pieces by world-known artists. Currently, there is a Botero’s exhibition. Botero is a well-known Latin American artist that seems to be obsessed by heavy people. If this sounds good to you too, call at 305.256.8399 to make your reservations.

Miami is a great place to celebrate 2008 Father’s Day! I was thinking that maybe after the Fairchild, It will be nice just to relax on the beach since it is summer. You can take your father to a nice stroll on Lincoln Road and relax on the beach of South Beach at the afternoon. If you are looking for something really affordable, because we all know about the recession, you can just plan a nice pick nick on the beach. For instance, prepare something yummy and put some drinks on cooler to spend the day in one of South Florida’s sunny beaches such as Hollywood Beach located a few minutes drive from Miami, or Matheson Hammock Park in Coral Gables, with a family-friendly ambiance really close to Miami’s Fairchild Tropical Garden.

In addition, taking your father to a nice restaurant is a great idea, too. If I have to choose I will go with Indian food because I know my father will love it. Besides, Indian cuisine is really friendly with vegetarians, as I am. Nevertheless, Italian cuisine is also a good choice. Who does not love Italian food? There are also great American style restaurants in Miami, and I am thinking men will love to be taken to a nice steakhouse in Miami to celebrate father’ day. For those looking for something truly unique, an Ethiopian restaurant can be ideal! just fun with flavors your dad might have no taste yet. Whichever restaurant you pick, remember to call in advance to see if it will be open and make your reservations since restaurants get pretty busy on Father’s Day.

Make this 2008 Father’s Day in Miami truly special! If you have not found a gift yet, I have a suggestion. A basket filled with six hand-selected microbrews from around the U.S. Besides, it also included award-winning gourmet snacks such as mixed nuts, pretzels, peanuts, and beef jerky. The basket has an estimated cost of $ 70. Nonetheless, if you want to save some money, you can do it yourself. Go to Home Depot and buy the basket. Then, go to your favorite supermarket and select the beers, you can go with imported beers if you preferred so. Add whatever you think your father will love!

CSI Miami vs. Dexter - A visit of Miami Florida

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

Airing on the CBS network, one of the most popular series in the U.S., CSI Miami stands for Crime Scene Investigation Miami. The show depicts a team of forensic scientists in action solving murders after murders using to do so the most advanced available technology. This TV show has become very popular throughout the years, and one of the reasons is, of course, David Caruso’s performance as Horacio Cane. David Caruso’s performance has been mocked all over the world. Even Jim Carrey did his interpretation at Dave Letterman’s Late Show. Apart from all, I have to tell show I love the show, even when sometimes it is completely irrelevant to Miami, Florida.

If you have seen the show, you already know its features views of Miami Beach’s most upscale buildings. Besides, all crimes take place at the hottest Miami night clubs, Miami hotels such as the Delano Hotel Pool, and tropical Miami luxury homes. All this is just one part of Miami, and perhaps the most important since is the one keeping Miami tourism alive. Actually, there is nothing better that having money and been in Miami because this way people can truly experience or even visiting Miami the “CSI Miami’s style.” With enough resources you will be able to charter a Miami boat to enjoy our fantastic waters when on vacations in Miami. Additionally, you will be able to enjoy fine dining and definitely the best of Miami nightlife at the most high-end South Beach nightclubs and Miami hotels. If you are a visitor, renting a luxury car in Miami is pretty easy… you can even rent a Hummer H2, Horacio Cane’s vehicle on CSI Miami.

[youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=3hI597De2_0]

Afterwards, this over the top Miami’s lifestyle is just a little part of the City of Miami. In fact, there a less popular TV show that features the city of Miami as a star in a more real way. Dexter, Based on Jeff Lindsay’s novels Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter, is a TV show about a forensic blood spatter expert for the Miami Dade Police Department that hunts down people who have escaped justice and makes sure they don’t get away with a crime again. Dexter is a serial killer of serial killers. Making the point Dexter, which also airs on CBS, show a more low-key human side of Miami. With views of Latin suburbs and Cuban café places, Dexter shows Miami as Miami’s residents truly know it.
