Miami Arena demolished

About 130 pounds of explosives brought down the roof of the Miami Arena — long considered the city’s ‘Pink Elephant’ — on Sunday morning. The arena marked its opening back in 1988 with a Frank Sinatra, Liza Minnelli and Sammy Davis Jr. concert.

Florida Red & Blue and Human Rights Campaign continue to educate voters on discriminatory Florida marriage amendment

On Wednesday July 30, 2008, one of our Camp Equality leaders put on a different hat and helped organize a rally in Weston, Florida.  Adarian Madriz, one of our fearless leaders, was kind enough to invite Florida Red and Blue to the event and with them, Camp Equality.  The Unity event was held at the swanky Bonaventure Country Club and pulled in top elected officials and locals from Broward County and newer suburban areas outside Fort Lauderdale.

South Miami Hospital rewarded for its care

In a special Medicare pay-for-performance test program, South Miami Hospital has received the highest total award in Florida and was the only hospital in the state to receive awards in four clinical years, according to the company that administered the program.
